Vintage Mid Century Linde Star Sapphire Ring, 14K White Gold, Art Deco Diamond Halo, Size 6.25, Lab-Created Blue Star Sapphire
A vintage 14K white gold cocktail ring with a lovely geometric Art Deco-style halo setting, or a Mid Century?
The center stone is a Linde lab-created blue star sapphire, showing a clean six-ray star under direct light, surrounded by a halo of small natural diamond accents.
The Details
Metal: 14K white gold
Center stone: Linde (lab-created) blue star sapphire, approx. 0.65ct
Accent stones: natural diamond melee halo
Ring face: approx. 9.5mm diameter
Total weight: 3.3g
Ring size: 6.25 US
Condition Pre-owned, gently worn with light surface wear consistent with age.
And after much cleaning of this ring, I have found the signature etch of a Linde (or Lindy) star sapphire. It shows that this is the synthetic, star sapphire that Linde began producing in the late 1940s. I am not sure when this ring is from timewise, My guess is the Fifties.
They etched a small L into the flat base of every stone so it could be identified as lab-created, and that etch is considered the definitive tell in the trade — more reliable than eyeballing the star or color.
✨ Please note, All items are vintage or antique and may show signs of age. I do my best to describe each piece accurately, including all visible wear. Please review photos and details carefully before purchasing. I'm not a gemologist or professional appraiser, but I purchase only from trusted sources and consult with my jeweler regularly. Indeed he is probably very sick of me by now!
Thank you for supporting small, slow, beautiful things. ✨
